The artist we have chosen to use for our music video is Ellie Goulding. Elena Jane "Ellie" Goulding was born on December 30th 1986 and is an English singer/song writer. Her style of music varies between Indie pop, Electropop, Synthpop Folktronica. Ellie is a very talented artist and as well as singing and songwritting for herself she also wrote songs for artists such as Diana Vickers which are called “Remake me and you", "Notice" and "Jumping into rivers” and also Gabriella Cilmi "Love me cause you want you". Ellie’s styles of songs are mainly acoustic with a calm soft feel to the songs. She also plays instruments such as the drums, guitar, piano, clarinet and tambourine. She has been doing this since the age of 14 alongside drama in which she completed a drama course in the university of Kent where she became exposed to electronic music. Her first single which was released in 2009 was called “Under she sheets” which peaked outside the top 40. Since then she has created well-known records such as “Guns and horses” and “The writer” and has sold over 620,000 copies of her number one album “Lights”. She has became a very popular artist and has gone on to winning the Critics Choice award at the Brit awards at the end of 2010 and then went on to performing at festivals such as Wakestock in 2011 and V Festival. She is also due to tour with a popular artist Katy Perry on her “Teenage Dream” tour at the end of 2011.
