I believe the album cover for Florence and the Machine’s Lungs album is very interesting and quirky, reflecting upon the individual nature of Ellie Goulding.
The most captivating image from the album cover is the lungs on the lead singers body, this highlights the name of the album and also gives connotations that she is a very powerful singer with large lungs. To a certain extent, the album cover is almost very graphic and may repulsive many people, however I believe the individuality of the artist will appeal to an alternative audience.
Florence, the lead singer, takes up most of the album cover stressing her importance, she is also looking away from the camera with her head turned suggesting that she is either slightly shy or deeply absorbed in her music.
There are flowers in the background and the colours of the album are neutral giving the album a nature and authentic feel, this is a idea which we could convey into our own album cover, we decided to film our music video in woods and parks to give the idea of an authentic and natural feel and we can reflect upon this idea in our album cover.
